TP Horseshoes Nail-on & Glue-on
Nail-on horseshoes
Modern, flexible therapeutic performance horseshoes made from a special polyurethane blend in a slim profile at various sizes. TP Horseshoes offer a great blend of protection, performance, comfort, and durability.
The next generation of horseshoes for best hoof protection and animal health, these self-tapping horseshoes are designed to be easily modified by farriers to be opened or closed, or ground and bevelled into Full-Roll profiles.
Core materials and design
TP Horseshoes are crafted from a 100% special polyurethane blend, without a metal core. This isn’t just a plastic shoe; it’s a high-performance polymer that brings the best of modern material science to your horse’s feet.
Exceptional durability and flexibility
We’re talking a high elastic modulus with higher yield strength. In plain English, this means the shoe is incredibly tough and durable, yet it maintains a degree of flexibility that mimics the natural movement of the hoof capsule. It absorbs impact, reduces concussion on joints, and helps promote healthier blood flow, all while holding its shape reliably under stress.
Superior wear resistance
Thanks to its high abrasion resistance, this shoe stands up to rigorous work on a variety of surfaces. Whether you’re hitting the arena, the trail, or the road, you can expect excellent longevity and value.
Secure, easy fit
Featuring 3 standard clips, the shoe offers a secure, traditional fit that provides the stability necessary for both sport and daily work.
Streamlined profile
With a simplified modeling and a uniform 15 mm thickness, the shoe is designed for a clean, professional application that minimizes bulk and weight.

Open or closed (bar) shoes, you choose
In farriery, the terms "open" and "closed" refer to the structure of the shoe at the heel, determining the type of support provided to the horse’s hoof.
An open horseshoe is the traditional, most common design. Its structure is the familiar U-shape where the ends are not connected. This type is used for general protection and allows for natural hoof flexion and ground contact by the frog.
Closed horseshoes, also known as bar shoes, form a continuous, closed ring where the ends are connected by a bar. This design is primarily used for therapeutic support and stabilization, increasing the weight-bearing surface at the rear of the hoof.
Straight bar shoes are used primarily for stability and to help manage issues like heel or quarter cracks. Egg bar shoes have an oval shape for extended support past the true heel, often used for conditions like navicular syndrome or underrun heels. Heart bar shoes include a V-shaped piece to support the frog and stabilize the coffin bone, used in critical therapeutic cases like laminitis.
With the TP Horseshoe, you can easily remove the bar.
Self-tapping pins or studs application
Specialized pins or studs (traction devices) that screw into the horseshoe provide better grip and traction on slippery ground during riding.
TP Horseshoes can be applied by the farrier by drilling and tapping threaded holes into the shoes. Studs are then inserted when needed for difficult ground conditions.
A standard stud requires the hole’s threads to be cleaned with a separate tool (a tap) first. Self-tapping studs are designed to automatically cut or clear any dirt and debris from the thread as they are screwed in, making the insertion process much faster and easier.
Full-roll shoe possibility
TP Horseshoes are highly valued by farriers for their ready capacity for modification, allowing for the quick and precise application of advanced biomechanics. A primary technique involves using a belt grinder to convert the shoe's profile into a Full-Roll or Roller Motion design.
See a short video of this process, but be sure to lower your volume first!
The process is essentially a controlled bevelling of the entire perimeter to create a convex ground surface. Unlike simply rolling the toe to ease forward breakover, this modification provides 360-degree relief, significantly reducing the leverage forces exerted on the lower limb joints and associated soft tissues.
The goal of grinding this full-roll profile is to strategically place the apex of the roll directly beneath the coffin joint's center of articulation. This immediate, multi-directional breakover is critical for therapeutic applications, such as managing chronic laminitis, caudal heel pain, or arthritis in the distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ).
The ease and speed with which the synthetic material can be precisely ground and smoothed contrasts sharply with the labor required to hand-forge a similar profile in steel, making it an efficient material for providing immediate, customized relief.
Beyond the therapeutic benefit, the finished full-roll profile contributes to overall hoof health. By eliminating sharp ground borders, the shoe reduces the torsional (twisting) stress the hoof experiences upon landing, aiding in the stabilization of the hoof capsule.
The combination of easy modification via grinding/bevelling and the inherent lightweight nature of the material makes the TP Horseshoe a superior choice for farriers looking to apply a complete roller motion mechanic to reduce stress, muscle fatigue, and the risk of gait interference.
